The AppointmentThe patient surveys the surgery, in mild disgust; it is cramped, and the proprietor doesn't seem to be organised, or indeed qualified. The walls are covered not by certificates of the doctor's achievements, but by a myriad of bookcases. The patient observes that the books are not ordered in any fashion, with battered-looking copies of psychiatric notes stacked next to books on philosophy, and many other topics; some polished tomes of Plato, slim volumes of discourse by Rousseau, and many well-thumbed children's books, with Rowling, Pullman and even some half-destroyed copies of Milne and Hughes in evidence.
